This is the cover page for the children's book that I am working on titled 'I'll Sleep Here Instead'. The book is going to be an ABC book that covers all the strange places your cat will usually sleep, instead of their bed. I will only be posting the first two pages here, but once it is finished I do have plans to get it published! The page artwork and text will be done in Photoshop and Paint Tool SAI. And the pages will be laid out in In Design once I can get a copy of the program.

This book is a daunting task with all the pages it will have, but I am really eager to get it finished so that I can attempt to publish it and sell copies! I think making this book will be a fun learning experience, and who knows, I might even decide to make more at some point! The cat that will feature as the main character in this book is colored and based around my cat Hemmie, a flame point who loves to cause me grief.

Innocent Monster

I am not a Killer
So please don't kill me

This was one of my contemporary pieces, I was partnered with Casey, and we decided on dog fighting, and the banning of pit bulls as our subject matter. In several places in the states, it is illegal to own a pitbull, simply because it is a pitbull, and in some shelters across the united states, bringing a pitbull into their shelter is a death sentence for the dig, regardless of temperament. Some places will even put down dogs that look like a pitbull, and this is completely unfair to these abandoned dogs. They did not ask to be brought into a work where not many people understand them, and they deserve love just as much as any other dog.

This piece was done in a combination of Photoshop CS5.1 and Illustrator, the silhouette I used was done in photoshop, and it was an image of a pitbull puppy. I blacked out the form using the brushes and select tool, then took it into illustrator for the final bit. In Illustrator I traced the image and filled it with text, the words 'Monster' over and over again, and then colored the text in photosop to make the eyes and broken heart, that was also where I added the large overlay text.

Word Play [WIPPAGE]

Expressive Text - Breaking Down

Ligatures - The Apothecary

Figure Ground Reversal - Meow

Lackadaisy

Another one I did just playing with colors and filters, using Photoshop CS 1.5 again, I like how psychedelic this looks!

Cat Vector

A cat vector I created in Adobe Illustrator!
Illustrator is really tedious and hard, but it was fun either way!

Running in Blue

This was a cat I edited in photoshop CS1.5, I was just fiddling around with effects really!
I sold a print of this piece, and it kind of reminds me of a playing card.

Pop Art President

This was a pop art piece I did of Dr.Rideaux, using a photo I took of him with my iPad tablet, I took it into Photoshop CS1.5 and used many filters and color adjustments to make this!
Tools Used: iPad camera, Photoshop CS1.5

This one was a preliminary one I did, this is not my final, I was just getting the feel of what I wanted to do and playing around, I used the same tools as the first.

And this one is the layered movement piece I did, using another photo of Dr.Rideaux and the layers in Photoshop CS1.5, I put these images together with different effects and transparency levels.

Jellicle songs for jellicle cats

Can you ride on a broomstick to places far distant?
Familiar with candle, with book, and with bell?
Were you Whittington's friend? The Pied Piper's assistant?
Have you been an alumnus of heaven and hell?

We can dive through the air like a flying trapeze
We can turn double somersaults, bounce on a tire
We can run up a wall, we can swing through the trees
We can balance on bars, we can walk on a wire

What is this

You were walking alone in the woods, hoping to snap some cool photos of the forest at night. All of a sudden you hear a sound behind you, you lift your camera to try and see what made the noise with the flash. You don't even have time to scream for help. This is the only photo they found on the camera, and your body was nowhere to be found.
----------------
I was just playing around with this weird picture I took of myself in Photobooth, I messed around with it in PS CS5.1, with a creepy forest photo I found on Google.

The Demon cat cometh. Awakened from his slumber, he is ravenous and ever hungry.
Made in Photoshop CS1.5, from various images.

I took a few images and cut them together to make this, I even added a picture of me! (I'm the corpse), I added some grainy textures to give it a dark and unfocused look, like an image taken through a bad camera.

He Cometh

Rising from the inky blackness, a demon that lay dormant for a thousand years, holding the essence of life itself within his palms.

Mediums
Smoke on Acrylic paper
Mirrored and color changed on the iPad
Detailed and refines in Paint Tool SAI

When I took the original image of smoke on acrylic paper and mirrored it, I saw a shape in the organic forms, and it kind of looked like a demon holding his hands out in a beckoning way. So I added a little color in Pixlr on the iPad, and then took it into Paint Tool SAI to add the details of the demon shape.
